Wanna try something new?
I know most of us are locked up at home and have restrictions in going out for groceries and getting the right ingredients when we cook. We also miss dining out with our family at our favourite restaurants .
You can improvise and make the best out of the available ingredients that you have.Take for example this recipe I tried is inspired by Kuse, but I tweaked it a little bit.

Bacon Siningang is a signature dish served by Kuse Restaurant.
Sinigang is one of Filipino’s favourite viand at any given day. It has a sour soup base using either tamarind, ripe guava, kalamansi (small lime), or kamias. Others have already explored using santol (cotton fruit) and watermelon.
This recipe is inspired by one of the dish served at Kuse during one my dinner with a good friend. I improvised my own bacon by making homemade cured bacon or pork belly, since it is ideal for siningang to have a chunky meat.
Please see below for the ingredients:
- Bacon ( porchetta or cured pork belly)
- Kangkong
- Radish
- Okra
- Tomatoes
- Red Onions
- Kamias
- Eggplant or String beans can be added .
