When in Singapore – Nasi Lemak – Where to Find the Best

Nasi lemak,FTW!

I finally had this after a long time of craving. It’s either the Auntie at the hawker center would say ‘finish already’ (ubos na) or the queue is super haba! But, I accidentally passed by here from a quick errand and my timing was perfect, just 2 person on queue.

Nasi lemak is a staple Malay-style breakfast whereby the rice is soaked in coconut cream and cooked with pandan leaves.

Ponggol Nasi Lemak is famous for this dish, and serves one of the best nasi lemak here in Singapore. It usually comes along with sambal, ikan bilis (anchovies) roasted peanuts & eggs plus their signature chicken wings, that are crispy, tasty and just so deliciously fried. No oily after taste. I wanted to have more side dishes as they also have stir fried eggplant, ladies finger and a lot more- but knowing my food capacity, I wouldn’t be able to eat them all.

My order:
Nasi Lemak plus chicken wings
Stir fried string beans with sambal
Fried Egg
Otah (grilled fish cake)
Teh Ga Dai (hot milk tea with more sugar
Cost: $6.70 + $1.20 (Hot Milk Tea)
It’s worth the price & the calories.

PS. You may want to order that extra nasi lemak , because , one is not enough. ðŸ˜œ

Super clean, pleasant servers and recommends take aways instead of dining in, although the tables are of limited seating.
